The meeting of Nostro and Mika late 2016, marks the beginning of the Death Proof Bastards adventure. After several rehearsals, the guys started composing their own songs influenced by the Stoner Rock/Metal scene, but also Sludge/Thrash/Heavy, and even Punk Rock. A few months later Sat joined them as second guitar player, followed by Raph as bass player, and then KLM as lead singer completing the line-up.

Death Proof Bastards’s sound is definitely what we can call StoneRock but you can also feel  a large Metal influence on their sound. In the end you have a Metal sound with a Rock’n Roll soul, hard riffs with groovy melodies. Songs like “Last Friend” or “Rais In Blood” are clearly inspired by bands like Spiritual Beggars or Down, and others like “Ash’s Curse”, which is obviously a kind of tribute of the old school Heavy Metal scene.

Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Slayer, Entombed, Gojira, Elder, Graveyard, Radio Moscow, (and many more), are the main sources of their composing.

Regarding the lyrics, the band is mostly influenced by horror movies, dark and evil stories, as well as historical or today’s events, like global warming for example.

Nowadays, almost 3 years later, in July 2019 they release their 1st track through bandcamp, the whole EP will be available on streaming at the end of this same summer. They also start touring this year, delivering a powerful and sublte performance, mixing up their songs with other bands covers. Providing, a real Rock’n Roll show.

La fin de l’année 2016, marque le début de l’aventure Death Proof Bastards, à travers la rencontre de Mat et Mika. Après plusieurs répétitions, ils commencent  à composer leurs propres chansons influencées par la scène Stoner Rock / Metal, mais aussi Sludge / Thrash / Heavy, et même Punk Rock. Quelques mois plus tard, Sat les rejoint en tant que deuxième guitariste, suivi de Raph à la basse, et enfin KLM comme chanteur complétant ainsi le line-up.

Le son de DPB est ce que l’on peut appeler StoneRock, mais on sent également une influence importante du Metal dans leur son. Au final, cela donne un son Metal avec une âme Rock’n Roll, des riffs durs accompagnés de mélodies groovy. Des chansons comme «Last Friend» ou « Rais In Blood » sont clairement inspirées par des groupes comme Spiritual Beggars ou Down, et d’autres comme «Ash’s Curse», qui est une sorte d’hommage à la scène « old school » Heavy Metal.

Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Slayer, Entombed, Gojira, Elder, Graveyard, Radio Moscow (et bien d’autres), sont les sources principales de leurs compositions musicales, alors que les sujets abordés dans leurs textes empruntent autant au cinéma d’horreur et aux histoires sombres et malsaines, qu’à des évènements historiques ou d’actualité, tel que le réchauffement climatique.

Aujourd’hui, presque trois ans plus tard, en juillet 2019, ils sortent leur 1er morceau via bandcamp ; le reste de l’ EP sera disponible, en ligne, d’ici la fin de ce même été. Cette année marque aussi le début des premières prestations scéniques.  Ils livrent une performance puissante mais subtile, alliant leurs compositions à quelques covers. En bref,  un vrai « Rock’n Roll show ».
